Welcome to CL Stuart Institute, a public charity dedicated to delivering programs that empower children to reach their full potential.
We collaborate with forward-thinking innovators, and leverage technology to improve education quality for children in vulnerable communities, providing foundational educational resources so they can pursue their dreams. Join us in our mission to create a brighter future for all children.

Our commitment to educating under-resourced children is inspired by Clevens Levi Stuart, known as Pop Stu, a revered educator who worked extensively with rural schools in Jamaica. As a headmaster, his student outcomes significantly outpaced peers and it didn’t take long before the government tapped him to transform education for the country. Pops was recruited to MICO College, an institution established for the training and development of teachers across the island.
At his core Pop Stu believed the key to learning was curiosity. He sought new and creative ways to stimulate interest in and out of the classroom, challenging his students to apply English, Math and Science to everyday experiences. His teachers were encouraged to do the same, while emphasizing the importance of character development. Respect, integrity and work ethic were continuously reinforced with carrots and sticks. He inspired generations of Jamaican learners.
Clevens Levi Stuart received an Order of Distinction for his work transforming education by the country’s Governor General. He believed every child should be given the opportunity of education, and he bestowed that upon thousands through his teachings. Many professionals attribute their intellectual curiosity directly to Pop Stu, the grandfather of our founder Kevin Reid and the inspiration for our mission.
